The Sarnaki District characterised by rich natural and touring values thanks to its picturesque location in the middle Bug valley. The terrain of Landscape Park "Podlaski Przełom Bugu" as well as the nature reserves "Zabuże" and "Kózki" are the most interesting places of Bug valley. Nature on these places one can get to know during walking trips on especially to this prepared natural paths, called "Trojan", "Kózki" and "Natural forest path". The main nature - tourist values of the Bug valley determining its peculiarity and uniqueness on the country and European scale are as follows:

• richness of fauna and flora with great part of rare, extiguishing and protected plants and animals ( its possibility to Natura 2000)

• high edges of Upland Moraine with wide view panorama onto Bug valley

• natural river bed with numerous slopes, shoals, islands with beautiful old - river beds called "bużyska", spread meadows and pastures

• forest oasis of silence and peace

The richness of natural enviroment of the Sarnaki District may be justified by large forest complexes not damaged by man's activity - forest constitute 36% of the total area of commune. The richest forest complex located in the western part of Sarnaki District along Bug river. In this forest complex is locate reserve of nature "Zabuże". The main types of trees are pine, oak, birch, alder, aspen and hornbeam. On the territory our commune are 5 hunting organisations operating within separated hunting circuits. Among the game there deer, wild boars, red deer, jack rabbit. Among birds one may meet black grouses, partridges, pheasant. In the arms of the virgin Bug river which calls "Trojan", there occur numerous water birds.

Reserve of nature "Kózki" covers 86 ha of area our region
